Mountain Boarding is an exciting new sport that over the past 10-15 years has developed from snow and skateboarding (combining skills of both), it is now a sport in its own right, with a national series and competitions all over the world! Mountain boards have a snowboard style deck with foot bindings (similar to a wake board) and trucks (similar to a skateboard), with 8"/9" pneumatic tyres. The best place to learn is an open patch of short grass with a gentle gradient, similar to our nursery slope (pictured top left). Mountain boarding doesn't have to be taken to the extreme and can be enjoyed by the whole family, so there's no reason why mum and dad can't have a go as well. . . Like mountain biking and all extreme sports, mountain boarding is inherently dangerous! |
